Having a bad day....

Today about 4 pm my boss called me into his office to inform me he was letting me go. He said it was because he couldn't trust me anymore. First thing he brought up was while I was in Dallas for training I didn't have a receipt for every penny I spent (since some of it was used for tipping and I offered to pay that back to which he refused), then it was something I did as an artist for a company my ex-brother-in-law works for and had accidently used the company watermark and proofing system which I corrected and used my own watermark. Then he said I was being deceitful for deleting the e-mail and I was covering my tracks (I just delete e-mails that are useless) and being paid for something that I was using company computers for (I haven't been paid for that art yet anyway which he said didn't matter). He also said that I was being stubborn about using the corporate method of using one program to do all my work. Well if I did that then I would never get any work done and I told him before and even the guy that came down that the corporate trainer said it was okay to use the program I felt most comfortable with. I had been busting my ass for him the last several weeks and especially the last few days with over 30 banners in just a couple of days and several plotted signs. To add insult to injury he had somebody change the locks while I was there. I've never been so insulted in my life to be told that I was dishonest at my job. I feel bad for the other two guys that work there since any place I've ever worked in the last 20 years no longer exists and he's doing a fine job at losing customers. What's really bad is that when I try to go get unemployment again he'll probably try to contest it like he did with someone else, even though he lost that. This has not been a good day. The only bright spot is the support I'm getting from my girl.

Under a program with the GA Dept. of Labor I will start off working 24 hours a week and still get my unemployment benefits while training. Then in May I will go to Dallas, TX for 2 weeks for training since the company is merging with Fast Signs and eventually I will work 40 hour weeks.

Today I received a letter from Macon State that my graduation ceremony is on the 8th of May, so hopefully I can get my boss to allow me to participate in the ceremony since I'm the first in my family to receive a degree.

On the art side, after 2 years I finally started putting art on my Deviant Art account and already there are quite a few people enjoying and perusing my art.
Friday my girlfriend and I were shopping at a Kroger that is near my house and as we begun to walk down the aisle where the Easter candy was a tall, young, black girl with tattoos on her arms stopped us. She asked if it would be okay if she could take my picture. She said her son is a big fan of the Incredible Hulk movie and I was wearing the movie t-shirt my brother gave me for Christmas. She also said that he would get a kick of not only the shirt but the fact I was wearing my green Utilikilt also. She told us her son was Autistic and just loved comics and anything unusual. I said sure. This wasn't the first time I've had someone stop me to take a picture while wearing either my green or black Utilikilt, but it was the most satisfying to make an Autistic child smile.

I didn't really care to file, since I never have before, but until my former bro-in-law hooks me up I needed to do something. Maybe I just have this thing about having to go through Government hoops (and I will) to receive benefits, which is why I never did before when I was out of work. Hopefully I won't have to wait long till I'm working again.

On another bit of news the editor of MSC's Fall Line Review who was on my shitlist after putting a comment I made under my piece I submitted may have vindicated herself by offering to hook me up with the 11th Hour, a local arts & entertainment newspaper much like Creative Loafing. To which I told her if Brad, the editor, was willing that sure he could have my contact info. So we'll see how that turns out.

Well it's been a long time since I last posted (my internet connection got locked that I've been weaseling for the past 3yrs). I finally finished school this semester so in the Spring I hope to get my Associate in Art. I will be the first in my family to get a degree. Recently I was very sick from something that gave me severe vomiting from my keister that only stopped when it went North and I was my old self again. Boy I hate losing even a day of work. As this year gets closer to ending I also hope that the job my former bro-in-law promised me is still going to be available. Recently there has been more news we have found out from sources other than the police that my boss was definitely the victim of foul play. His son/stepson has been staying with me since the 24th of October. I wish he could go home to spend the holidays with his family but he has to wait for the 22nd to swore in as administrator of Barry's estate so my family will treat him like part of our family. I hope that I will eventually get my own internet so I don't have sit outside and surf the net. I hope all the people I call friends are doing well and I hope to at least get on here again before X-mas. Tomorrow I'm making Brunswick Stew and most likely about 4 gallons MMmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!

I want to thank everyone that responded. I was told this morning that Barry had been so badly burned that they are using dental records to verify his identity. Something may have happened on either Saturday or Sunday night I've been told that he got drunk, got in a fight and beat up, misplaced his car to boot. Then Monday night he tried to commit suicide possibly with a handful of pills washed down with liquor to which his girlfriend (that I don't trust) called paramedics and he was not cooperative. The news has said that his girlfriend left after a fight and when she got back the house was on fire, but she didn't call the fire department it was an alarm company instead. He was found face down on the floor of his den. I started today calling customers to pick their belongings and removing expensive merchandise that myself and Linda's son worry that his girlfriend may try to take. I didn't get alot done, smoked a lot and drink multiple cups of coffee. I go back Thursday to do more. Thanks again to everyone and their well wishes.

Yesterday I was approached by my ex-brother-in-law, who is going back to being a cop again, to possibly take his current job at a graphics company. With a little training beforehand I could get this job making $11.50 to $12 an hour, 40 hours a week. Problem is I'm torn. I've been at my current job for over 5 1/2 years through a lot of tough times, but I only make $9 an hour. I hate making job transitions, but with the way my boss has been since he wife passed away with his unreliability and pill abuse I have considered the move to finding another job. If he were to fuck up now it would make it a lot easier. I feel like I might be betraying him but I have to look out for myself. This company is about to bought by a chain and could end up having benefits like health insurance that I haven't had in years. I wish his son/stepson was here so I wouldn't feel that he was left with no one that knew the amount of skill that I had procured in my time there. I would like the change since I would get weekends off unless there was a big project that needed to be done and there is so much good about it that I worry that it's too good. Chris did warn me that I would be working with some hardcore conservatives and rednecks, but I think I could handle them. I've got a few weeks to consider taking the job, but have to think on how I would break it to my boss that I would be leaving.

Well I just finished sewing the button holes on my costume for Dragon*Con and I tried it on with some of the accessories and I have to say it is looking awesome for my first hand sewn costume. I still need to do the trim, make a piece for the belt, and paint the antlers, but it's getting close to being finished which I hope to do before school starts. My girlfriend is worried she'll have to bring a stick to beat girls off of me with, LOL. As soon as I finish I will post preDragon*Con pics.

Me so happy. I got a room transfer reservation done today, so I'm excited that I have a hotel room for Dragon*Con for myself, my girlfriend, and my lil bro. This should be one of the best D*Cons in a long time and a lot better than last year. This will be my girl's first D*Con, so hopefully she won't be too overwhelmed. It's still a month away but I just excited for it to get here. School starts on the 18th and I'm prepared financially early for that and registered. Man life is good right now.
